Paint a Rainbow – Listening to Youth Voices in Sri Lanka was launched by the Shilpa Sayura Foundation in June 2013 to empower young people through creative media and active civic participation.
The project addresses the challenges faced by youth in engaging with civic life by providing opportunities to express their ideas, concerns, and aspirations through digital storytelling and creative media. It aims to increase young people’s awareness of civic responsibility, democratic governance, and community participation while developing their creative and digital media skills.
Implemented across 10 districts in partnership with local schools and telecentres, the project provided young participants with learning resources, computers, digital media equipment, and practical training to create media that promotes dialogue, social inclusion, and positive social change.
Paint a Rainbow was funded by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).
