Global Recognition

The Stockholm Challenge recognises outstanding ICT for Development (ICT4D) initiatives from around the world. The 2008 competition attracted projects from more than 50 countries, with 145 finalists selected following a rigorous international evaluation.

“The standard of the projects in the Stockholm Challenge Award this year is better than ever. The criteria for participation were set to a higher level than in previous years, requiring projects to demonstrate stronger social impact and sustainability.”

— Ulla Skidén, Project Manager, Stockholm Challenge

Prior to this achievement, Shilpa Sayura had already received the i4D Award at eINDIA 2007 and the Stockholm Challenge–GKP Award at the Global Knowledge Conference (GK3) in Kuala Lumpur.
